Express Yourself with Body Art

Body art is the perfect way to express your personal style and outlook on life. Our clients are drawn to body art for many different reasons:

  • They can’t wear jewelry at work or while playing sports due to safety issues.
  • They want to memorialize a relationship, event, life milestone, or loss.
  • They want to publicly share religious, spiritual, or philosophical beliefs.
  • They enjoy it to enhance their appearance for the fun of it.

Different Types of Body Art: Which One Is Right for You?

At Love Your Look, we offer several different types of body art to suit our clients’ individual needs and styles. And because we are a medical spa and Jodi is a Nurse Practitioner, you can have prescription-strength numbing cream to ease the pain that comes with tattooing!

Tiny Tattoos

Also known as micro tattoos, tiny tattoos are gaining in popularity. They aren’t as visible as larger tattoos, which is a solution if you don’t want something too showy with a quick application and healing time.

Many people enjoy adding to their micro tattoos over time, kind of like a charm bracelet that contains your memories or favorite images. In fact, you can make a permanent bracelet, anklet, or ring of tattoo images that you never have to worry about losing, breaking, or getting wet.

Common tiny tattoo ideas include:

  • Animals

  • Compasses and directions
  • Anchors
  • Fleurs-de-lis
  • State or country map outlines
  • A loved one’s handwriting

The sky’s the limit for these minimalist tattoos, which can be done in color or simply in black ink.

Touching Up or Refreshing Old Tattoos

If you have an old tattoo that needs freshening, we’re happy to do that for you too. The once-vibrant colors may have faded over time – not an unusual occurrence – or you may want to add to it. If your skin has stretched or lost volume, the shape of the tattoo may have become altered, so it needs a little help to look nice again. You may wish to add the name of another child, a date, or similar important memory to your existing tattoo.

Henna Tattoos

Not ready for the permanence of a conventional tattoo, or is a tattoo in conflict with your religious beliefs? A henna tattoo may be just what you’re looking for.

Believe it or not, henna tattoos have been around for over 5,000 years. They’re very popular in some cultures, especially for weddings or holiday festivals. Henna is a temporary dye derived from a plant, and it’s also used as a natural hair coloring.

You can apply a henna tattoo just about anywhere on the body, not only on the hands and feet, where it is most common. Some people choose elaborate patterns that look like lace gloves or stockings, while others prefer something more subtle, like a lotus flower or vine on their shoulder or ankle.

With care, most henna tattoos last about 10 to 15 days. This makes them perfect for special occasions or trips.
